Boruto: Naruto Next Generations

A manga sequel to Naruto Shippuden will be coming out on May 9, 2016, entitled Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. It is set some time after the events of Boruto: Naruto the Movie. It centers around Uzumaki Boruto, the son of the Seventh Hokage Naruto and the Hyuga Princess Hinata, who aims to become a ninja who follows his own path like Uchiha Sasuke, Naruto's best friend. Other main characters, such as Uchiha Sarada, the daughter of Sasuke and Sakura, who aims to become Hokage, the mysterious Mitsuki, the son of one of the Three Legendary Sannin, Orochimaru along with their Jōnin leader, Sarutobi Konohamaru, the grandson of the powerful Third Hokage Hiruzen who also aimed to become Hokage as well.

Other new generations of shinobi, such as Yamanaka Inojin, Nara Shikadai, Akimichi Chocho, Metal Lee, along with the three Sand Shinobi, Shinki, Araya and Yodo will reappear in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.

A one-shot spin-off, part of the Naruto Gaiden entitled Naruto: The Path Lit by the Full Moon will be out on April 25, 2016. It is drawn by Masashi Kishimoto. Set before the Boruto series (before Naruto: The Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring), it centers around Mitsuki, revealing his origins, his identity and his relationship with Orochimaru before emigrating to Konoha and meeting Boruto. Hozuki Suigetsu is also in the story.
